A glorious location to camp here at Rape Lake is New Hope Campground, and Locust Grove Atlanta Red Roof Inn is a delightful place to get some rest. Do have a look at Rape Lake Dam since you're here at Rape Lake; dry warm beds await you at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson McDonough. | | do next to Rape Lake. Hiking along the Kinnard Horse Trail is magnificent fun, and for you golfers we recommend close by Georgia National Golf Club.
Lake Dow is a nearby lake that you could go to, and South River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. the 50's while the cold winter nights at Rape Lake are in the 30's.
Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Yellow River, and Rape Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Mount Bethel Campground is a great local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Lake Ola; don't miss out on a spree to Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail while you're here.

Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
