Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cartecay River; you can go for a hike on the Bear Creek Trail. Throughout the summertime months here at Powell Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Powell Lake are in the 20's. Having a glorious time       at Powell Lake is painless. There's so much to do here at Powell Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Diamond Lure Campground is a wonderful location for that, and going for a hike on the Tearbritches Trail is always a delightful adventure. Powell Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. A lake close by is Walnut Mountain Lake A, and for you golfers we                  recommend close by Whitepath Golf Club &. Good hiking is available along the Mountaintown Creek Trail; Powell Lake Dam is a place that is near Powell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Powell Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Nelly Plum Campground is a delightful local campground, and Ramada Limited Of Blue Ridge is a good location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful.
