From Postell Lake you acquire a brilliant vista of Kimmons Mountain, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cartecay River. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western Mountain View Inn is a fine choice, of course you could also go to Garland       Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. All the water falling down from the sky makes Postell Lake a wet place; through March this area sees the most rain; the driest month is October. Clear Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and Postell Lake is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Diamond Lure Campground is a magnificent spot to camp nearby. Take a hike on the Benton Mackaye Trail, and you can have a brilliant hiking adventure                  along the Tearbritches Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Bear Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. During the summertime months here at Postell Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's while overnight lows are commonly in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Postell Lake. So many fun things to do at Postell Lake, so little time.
