Georgia has many beautiful lakes and Ponys Lake is one of them. Ponys Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ponys Lake gets lots of water; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Dahlonega, Georgia, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the DeSoto Falls Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do

Sure, Ponys Lake is just a very short distance away. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Ponys Lake. Enjoy a round of golf at Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River not far from Ponys Lake; a good location for whitewater paddling is Chestatee River. | |

You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If the weather is wonderful here at Ponys Lake, you can go for a hike along the Black Mountain Trail, and you can stay the
night at Crisson Campground. Here at Ponys Lake you'll possibly meet some folks from Gainesville, and after a long day outdoors Dahlonega Days Inn (Hwy 19 & Hwy 60) is a good place to spend a night or two. That right there is lots
of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Blue Ridge Mountains has it all. The Whitly Gap Trail is a glorious hiking trail near Ponys Lake, and at Ponys Lake Dam close to Ponys Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see.
All through the months of summer here at Ponys Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Ponys Lake.
