This lake is so wonderful. Ponys Lake is a pleasant spot to visit for more than one day, Crisson Campground is a pleasant spot to camp nearby, and you can run the rapids of Chestatee River. Why not stop at Ponys Lake Dam since you're here; why not take a refreshing hike along the Whitly Gap Trail. If you go for the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Ponys Lake. Wild Willy Rv's & Campground is a tremendous campground       nearby, and you're sure to come across some wonderful folks from Gainesville here. Summer at Ponys Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's; the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, usually in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Ponys Lake. Ponys Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; March is the month that gets the most rain, and October is when it's the driest. Ponys Lake is one of the lakes here                  in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The DeSoto Falls Trail offers hiking at its best, and a perfect nearby hotel is Dahlonega Days Inn (Hwy 19 & Hwy 60). This lake is so wonderful. There's good hiking along the Black Mountain Trail. Just can't get enough of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Holiday Inn Express Dahlonega, Georgia is a tremendous site to get some rest, and Ponys Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more amusing things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
