Near Ponys Lake you locate the Whitly Gap Trail which is a great hiking trail. Camping at Wild Willy Rv's & Campground is always a good experience, and you're perhaps into lakes, Ponys Lake is one of those nearby. Ponys Lake typically gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains.       This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Dahlonega is a pleasant location to spend a night or two; camping is available at Crisson Campground. That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Ponys Lake has it all. There's always Ponys Lake Dam to go to near Ponys Lake, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Black Mountain Trail. All the outdoors amusing things in the Blue Ridge Mountains will keep you coming back persistently.                  Holiday Inn Express DAHLONEGA is a great place to get some rest, and needless to say, this is a good vicinity for folks who like lakes, Burgess Lake is a lake close by. Yeah, come up here to the Blue Ridge Mountains for a good time. There are plenty of folks from Gainesville here at Ponys Lake, and the DeSoto Falls Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. A golf course close to Ponys Lake is Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River; Chestatee River is a brilliant whitewater spot nearby. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Ponys Lake. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's.
