Why not explore nearby Split Oak Creek if you're here at Pine Lake, and you can stay the night at Antioch Campground. If the weather is great here at Pine Lake, you can go for a hike along the Black Mountain Trail, and while you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Gainesville. If you come at the right time of year, Etowah River offers some great       whitewater, and if you've had enough of Pine Lake, Ponys Lake is nearby. The high level of rain makes Pine Lake a reasonably wet place; the month with most of the rain is March; the driest of the months is October. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Little River - East Fork, and Dawsonville Super 8 Motel is a glorious place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Pine Lake has to offer, you                  can camp at Duckett Mill Campground, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the DeSoto Falls Trail. On a great day at Pine Lake you can take a hike along the Brookshire Creek Trail, and you're perhaps addicted to lakes, Ponys Lake is one of those nearby. Summer at Pine Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Pine Lake dip into the 20's.
