Springs-Marietta here. There's so much to do here at Phillips Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pirkle Campground is a great location for that, and Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is a good local destination.
This lake is so wonderful. Phillips Lake is not the only place nearby, Kites Lake is a nearby lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Line Creek.
