Near Phelps Lake you stumble on the Falling Camp Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail; on a pretty day you obtain a great view of Cemetery Hill from Phelps Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors The Ritz-Carlton Lodge At Reynolds Plantation is a great place to spend a night or two; on a great day you can take a hike along the Town Creek Bike Trail. If you have a thing about the outdoors,       you'll go for Phelps Lake. Why not camp at Wesleyan Campground if you're here at Phelps Lake; the scenery at Greensboro Water Reservoir Dam is pretty. There is a wonderful hiking trail near Phelps Lake called the Scull Shoals Trail, and a good nearby hotel is Jameson Inn Greensboro. Phelps Lake typically gets a lot of rain; March is the month that gets the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. Get wet paddling on Rose Creek, and soar                  down the rapids of Apalachee River in a kayak. During the summer months, highs usually are in the 80's at Phelps Lake. Summer night lows descend down to the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Phelps Lake. A tremendous place to camp here at Phelps Lake is North Shore Resort; Greensboro Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at.
