Pettit Lake is a lake worth visiting. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Pettit Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Pettit Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Foundry Park Inn & Spa is a tremendous spot to get some rest; Pine Lake RV Campground is a great campground nearby. All the water falling down

This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Apalachee
River is so much fun. A good close by hotel is Comfort Suites Athens; the Mounds Trail offers hiking at its best. Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is a great local campground, and do pop by Pettit Dam since you're here.
