If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll love Paper Lake. There's whitewater on Rose Creek for all you thrill seekers, and obviously Big Sandy Creek flows through this vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Paper Lake that you need to camp       here for a while, Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is a wonderful location for that, and there are some delightful whitewater spots on Apalachee River. Nearby lakes? Sure, Strange Lake is in close proximity to Paper Lake, and if you're going to from Athens-Clarke County, you won't be the only one. Stay the night at Talisman Campark, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Paper Lake; Scull Shoals Trail is a splendid local trail. Paper Lake commonly                  gets lots of rainfall; during the month of March you get the most rain around here while September is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Mounds Trail, and Wingate by Wyndham Madison / Lake Oconee Area is a wonderful spot to get some rest. Paper Lake is right by the Falling Camp Trail. This is a glorious neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Brown Lake is a lake nearby, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Madison is a perfect choice. High temperatures at Paper Lake during the days of summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's.
