Quality Inn & Suites Conference Center is a great place to get some rest, and if you get bored of Painted Turtle Lake you could also check out nearby Green Valley Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Painted Turtle Lake is a wet place that gets lots of rainfall; March is when you get the most rain here, and September is the month with the least moisture. Steele Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at; a wonderful location for whitewater paddling is South River.

| | You need to go to Bethlehem Bottoms while you're here at Painted Turtle Lake, and a tour to Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is recommended. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you're a golfer then a great close by course is Cotton Fields Golf Club, and if you need a place to stay Sleep Inn Mcdonough is a pleasant choice. and camping at Atlanta South RV Resort is always a wonderful experience. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Painted Turtle Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. For the duration
of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 50's with temperatures at Painted Turtle Lake dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights. If you came to camp Mc Dondugh Koa Kampground is a delightful spot to do that, and get your pulse rate up on the pleasant whitewater of Towaliga River.
