Benning is a tremendous choice; in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you       can always go whitewater paddling on Chattahoochee River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Opossum Lake a wet location; the month with most of the rain is July, and October is when it's the driest. Mulberry Creek has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by, and Oxbow Creek Golf Course is a brilliant golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Beaver Pond, and an exciting thing to stop by near Opossum Lake is Opossum                  Lake Dam. A splendid place to camp here at Opossum Lake is Lake Pines Camp Ground, and don't forget to take a tremendous little visit to Castin Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the summertime at Opossum Lake temperatures are mostly in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Opossum Lake.
