Why not go to North Landing Lake Dam since you're here; a wonderful spot for whitewater paddling is Sope Creek. Near North Landing Lake you locate a golf course called Bradshaw Farms Golf Course. There's so much to do here at North Landing Lake that you need to camp here for a while, La Siesta RV Park is a tremendous place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Colony Land Development Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and Marsh Creek is a good whitewater

| | spot nearby. What a place this is for outdoors people. While you're here at North Landing Lake, you could also have a look at pretty Powers Lake; if you have time to spare, Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is a national park worth stopping at. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Hampton Inn AtlantaWoodstock. You'll need more than a day to look at everything North Landing Lake has to offer, you can camp at Marietta Campground. North | |

Landing Lake gets a large amount of water; the month with most of the rain is March while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. After a long day outdoors Suburban Extended Stay Woodstock-Atlanta N is a wonderful
place to spend a night or two, and lots of folks from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta come here. Summertime highs at North Landing Lake generally tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is quite cooler of course, frequently in the 60's.
High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at North Landing Lake temperatures descend to the 20's.

Simmons Lake
 | 18 miles away My father had a home in the Echo Lake subdivision in the 1960's and the way I remember what happened to Simmons Lake was that that after Lakeside High School was built the earthen dam that held back Simmons Lake broke and that was pretty much the end of the lake. It wasn't repaired. The small lake next to Briarcliff Road was a separate lake that was fed from Simmons lake and in turn fed Echo Lake. This small lake appears from an aerial photograph to have nearly silted in. The culvert under Briarcliff Road from the small lake to Echo Lake was a favorite haunt for chasing snakes and turtles. I remember Echo Lake being dredged in the 1960's. Back then there was little Echo Lake at the other end of Echo Lake and it no longer exists. Little Echo Lake had a concrete dam that failed a couple of times and I suppose was given up on. The homes in Echo Lake subdivision sold in the 20-25K range. This area was a perfect place for my brother and me to spend summers. Dad told me years later that he wouldn't see us until dinner time in the summer because we spent all day doing things around these la... |
