    If you are in Habersham county it's always a good idea to stop by Nancy Town Lake. You'll meet a lot of folks from Cornelia here. Lakes are great; Wells Pond is a lake that's in close proximity to Nancy Town Lake. If you go for the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Nancy Town Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Nancy Town River offers some good whitewater. There's so much to do here at Nancy Town Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Russell  
   Campground is a great spot for that. Nancy Town Lake is a wet site that gets a great deal of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is October.
This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a perfect little tour to Wofford Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is beautiful, you acquire a glorious panorama of Chenocetah Mountain from Nancy Town Lake, and why not go to Nancy Town Lake Dam
 
               since you're here. You're most likely interested in lakes, Lake Russell is one of those close by; if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Cornelia is a wonderful choice.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Hudson River, and Wofford Shoals is another pleasant place to visit close by. For the duration of the warm months at Nancy Town Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Nancy Town Lake. If you came to camp Hazel Creek RV Park is a splendid site to do that, and a good close by hotel is Cornelia-Days Inn.

Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.

Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.?
