After a long day outdoors Chattanooga Howard Johnson Plaza is a magnificent place to spend a night or two; if you've had enough of Murphy Lakes, Blue Spring Lake is nearby. A large amount of rain falls at Murphy Lakes; March is when you get the most rain here while October is usually the driest month. All through the long summer days, highs typically are in the 80's at Murphy Lakes. All through the dark       hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Murphy Lakes through the wintertime commonly sink into the 20's. Good hiking is available along the Hardy Trail, and paddling on Rock Creek is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. You can see Boynton Ridge from Murphy Lakes, and camping at Ringgold Koa Kampground is always a glorious experience. Camping is available                  at Shipps RV Center and Campground, and golf can be played at Battlefield Golf Club. There's wonderful hiking along the Bluff Trail, and do put some time aside to spend at Poplar Spring if you're here at Murphy Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Home Town Inn Ringgold/Fort Oglethorpe is a good place to get some rest; drift down the rapids of Falling Water Creek in a kayak. So many enjoyable things close to Murphy Lakes, just mind-blowing. Nearby lakes?
