     If you get bored of Morris Pond, you could also go to nearby Lavonia Water Works Lake; after a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Lavonia is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two. Summer at Morris Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Morris Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel - Lavonia  
   is a good location to get some rest, and Morris Pond is near Harris Shoal which is undeniably worth taking a look at. Chickasaw Point Golf Course the Trails is a magnificent golf course close by, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Snow River.
This lake is so wonderful. All the water falling down from the sky makes Morris Pond a wet place; during the month of March you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is October. You can run the
 
               rapids of Shoal Creek right next door to Morris Pond, and you'll meet a lot of people from Toccoa here.
Be careful coming to Morris Pond, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Tugaloo State Park is a great local campground, and there's some flowing water close by, Crawford Creek is a stream you can explore while you're here. A lake nearby is Broom Pond; Morris Pond is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Lake Hartwell State Recreation Area is a fine place to camp nearby.

This lake is located on the farm lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
