After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport South is a great location to spend a night or two, and Morning Creek Lake is a fine place to camp, Camp Truitt-fulton is a fine place. Morning Creek Lake usually gets a large amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls through March, and September is the month with the least moisture. Lake Estes Dam is pretty and it's right next door to Morning Creek       Lake, and don't miss out on a trip to Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail while you're here. If you get bored of Morning Creek Lake, you could also check out close by Lake Feldwood, and Sweetwater Creek is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby. What a place this is for outdoors folks. High                  temperatures at Morning Creek Lake through the warm days of summer are in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Annewakee River. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby College Park Municipal Golf Course is a magnificent way to kill some time.
