After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motels - Jasper is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two, and there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Benton Mackaye Trail. Be careful coming to Montag Lake, you might not ever wanna return home again. You don’t have to go far       from Montag Lake to catch a glimpse of the water at Montag Lake Dam, obviously you could also stop at Diamond Lure Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. For the duration of the summer months, highs generally are in the 80's at Montag Lake. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Montag Lake are in the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Montag Lake a wet                  spot; most of the rain falls throughout March while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A brilliant place for whitewater paddling close to Montag Lake is Clear Creek; going for a hike on the Bear Creek Trail is always a good adventure. This lake is so wonderful.
