During the summer at Mitchells Lake highs are typically in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 40's with temperatures       at Mitchells Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Camping at Rome-floyd County Recreation is always a pleasant experience; if you need a spot to stay Best Western Executive Inn is a great choice. Paddling on Johnnies Creek is so much fun. The high level of rain makes Mitchells Lake a relatively wet spot; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; October is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Blossom                  Hill is clearly visible from Mitchells Lake, and while you're here why not explore Hells Hollow. This is a great area for folks who like lakes. Fort Jackson Reservoir is a lake in close proximity, and Mitchells Lake is not far at all from Rome.
