When visiting a new area, folks will often ask, “Now that I am here, what can I do?” Here are a few ideas:
Look for animal life along the river. Fish from the shore or launch a boat from the new landing. Canoe or kayak down the river (bring your own). Enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset.. Rent one of two furnished campers. Plan a picnic in the day-use area. Visit the Heritage Center for information, drinks, books, etc. Walk on over two miles of trails. Look for deer and other wildlife in the area. Go birding. Bring your binoculars and bird book. Search for animal tracks. Take pictures or keep a journal of sights and sounds. Sit, read, make a sketch. Volunteer some time to help the park. Relax!
