The beauty of Miller Lake attracts many people from all around. An afternoon playing golf at Pine Hill Golf Course is always a pleasure; not far from Miller Lake you'll come across Ramsey-Fraser Lake which is a pretty lake. If you came for an overnight stay Lakeside Mobile Home and Travel is a great spot to camp, and a splendid close by hotel is Gainesville Days Inn. Paddling on Little River - East Fork is so much fun, and the good people of Gainesville like

Lakes? Sure, Reservoir 15 is around here. Miller Lake is a wet spot that gets much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March while October is generally the driest month. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Miller Lake, too fine to be true. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop at Miller Lake Dam, and Mossy Creek Campground is a glorious local campground.

good whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn GAINESVILLE-LANIER CENTRE is a magnificent choice. For the period of the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Miller Lake, and through
the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Miller Lake drop into the 20's.

I notice that there is a Lake Qualatchee a few miles northwest of Cleveland, Georgia. I have never visited the site. Bartram's list of Cherokee towns included a ''Qualatche,'' but it was reportedly on the Flint River, too far away to have a connection with this lake. But, Mooney says a town called Qualatchee was somewhere on the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River. Not much else seems to have been written about the town, and I am not yet sure how the lake came to have its name.... |
