If you come at the right time of year, Flat Creek offers some fine whitewater, and dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Gainesville. This lake is so wonderful. Mossy Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground, and near Miller Lake you hit upon a golf course called Pine Hill Golf Course. Reservoir 15 is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Little River - East Fork. High

is a perfect spot to spend a night or two. Miller Lake is a wet site that gets much precipitation; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is October.

Lake Qualatchee
19 miles away
I notice that there is a Lake Qualatchee a few miles northwest of Cleveland, Georgia. I have never visited the site. Bartram's list of Cherokee towns included a ''Qualatche,'' but it was reportedly on the Flint River, too far away to have a connection with this lake. But, Mooney says a town called Qualatchee was somewhere on the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River. Not much else seems to have been written about the town, and I am not yet sure how the lake came to have its name....
