the most rain; November is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you're visiting McManus Ponds from Augusta-Richmond County, you won't be the only one. Lakes are nice; Hardys Lake is a lake that's near McManus Ponds,
and Stevens Creek is a fine whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from McManus Ponds, you'll stumble on Silver Lake which is a pretty lake, and why not take a little tour to Bettys Branch while you're here. If
you need a place to stay Holiday Inn AUGUSTA WEST I-20 is a magnificent choice, and Silver Lake Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out.

 | There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams.... |
