There's so much to do here at McLaughlin Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hart State Park is a pleasant site for that, and whitewater paddling is good on Shoal Creek. McLaughlin Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; during March this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is September. If you need a place to stay Best Western Lake Hartwell Inn & Suites is a delightful choice; you'll locate a beautiful lake called Cole Lake Three.
