High temperatures at McIntosh Dam through the warm months are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 50's with temperatures at McIntosh Dam dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. Be careful coming to McIntosh Dam, you might not ever wanna return home again. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody       but if it's for you then we recommend Towaliga River; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Ocmulgee River Trail. Visit Aboothlacoosta Creek if you're here at McIntosh Dam, and close to McIntosh Dam you locate a golf course called Hickory Hill Golf Club. If you came to camp High Falls State Park is a pleasant spot to do that, and of course, this is a splendid area for folks who like lakes, Chief McIntosh Lake is a lake in close proximity. This lake                  is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Days Inn At Jackson is a splendid choice. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Hilltop Inn is a perfect place to get some rest; while you're here you can take a hike along the Allison Lake Wildlife Trail. There are some fine whitewater spots on Big Sandy Creek, and going for a hike along the Kinnard Horse Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. There's so much to do here at McIntosh Dam that you need to camp here for a while, Indian Springs State Park is a good site for that; not far from McIntosh Dam you obtain some brilliant water scenery at Chief McIntosh Lake Dam.
