Flint River is a pleasant whitewater spot right next door to McGehee Lake; getting to Weatherford Branch from McGehee Lake is uncomplicated. Econo Lodge Thomaston is a fine spot to get some rest, and you can run the rapids of Potato Creek. This place, McGehee Lake, it simply has so much outdoors fun stuff. A great nearby hotel is Thomaston-Days Inn, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Thomaston here. There's       so much to do here at McGehee Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Heart of Georgia RV Park is a great spot for that; McGehee Lake Dam has glorious water scenery. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp High Falls Campground is a fine location to do that. Lakes? Sure, Bickley Lake is in close proximity. At McGehee Lake throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down                  to the 50's; night lows at McGehee Lake during the winter typically descend into the 30's.
