McGarity Lake is a lake worth visiting. McGarity Lake Dam is a spot that is in close proximity to McGarity Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend South River. During the months of summer at McGarity Lake highs are usually in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's.
