     You'll need more than a day to explore everything McFarlin Pond has to offer, you can camp at Toccoa Rv Park & Campground, and Cagle Lake Dam is a place that is near McFarlin Pond. A good deal of precipitation falls at McFarlin Pond; during the month of March you get the most rain around here; October is when it's the driest. After a long day outdoors Knights Inn & Suites Toccoa is a brilliant site to spend a night or two. Lots of people from Toccoa come to McFarlin  
   Pond, and Nancy Town River has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by.
All through the warmest time of the year here at McFarlin Pond, high temperatures usually get into the 80's while night lows are typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at McFarlin Pond sink into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. McFarlin Pond is not the only place nearby, Ayers Pond is a nearby
 
               lake, and McFarlin Pond is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Lumber Jacks Camping Resort is a nice place to camp nearby. Paddling on Rice Creek is so much fun; why not have a look at nearby Leatherwood Creek since you're here at McFarlin Pond.
That right there is loads already, but it goes on; McFarlin Pond has it all. Days Inn Toccoa is a good spot to get some rest, and a lake close by is Cagle Lake.

...onecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.

Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??...
