    What a nice lake McDade Pond is. McDade Pond gets a great deal of water; through March this area sees the most rain, and November is the month with the least moisture. If you need a place to stay Scottish Inns Gordon Hwy is a tremendous choice; McDade Pond is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Fox Hollow Camp Ground is a magnificent local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn South, and you'll meet a lot of
 
   people from Augusta-Richmond County here. All through the warm days of summer here at McDade Pond, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's while McDade Pond overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. You simply have to have a thing about McDade Pond. Playing golf is lots of fun at Goshen Plantation Golf Club; get your heart pumping on the  
               wonderful whitewater of Savannah River.
McDade Pond is not the only place close by, Carmichael Pond is a close by lake; camping at Flynn's Inn Camping Village is always a glorious experience. A lake nearby is Goshen Lake; Goshen Lake Dam is a gorgeous spot, without doubt worth going to.

There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams....
