     Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Augusta; there are other sites here than McDade Pond, for example Goshen Lake. McDade Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; during the month of March you get the most rain around here, and November on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Savannah River in a kayak, and camping is available at Flynn's Inn Camping Village. So many entertaining things close to McDade Pond,  
   just remarkable. Enjoy a round of golf at Goshen Plantation Golf Club not far from McDade Pond; camping at Fox Hollow Camp Ground is always a magnificent experience.
Lakes are such serene sites, why not go to Carmichael Pond next to McDade Pond, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Augusta-Richmond County. If you need a location to stay Scottish Inns Gordon Hwy is a delightful choice; why not go to Goshen Lake Dam since you're here.
 
               At McDade Pond through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 90's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 60's. All through the winter highs are usually in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at McDade Pond drop into the 30's.

There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams....
