This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Little Towaliga River, and Forsyth Koa Kampground is a brilliant campground nearby. Summertime highs at McCook Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 50's with       temperatures at McCook Lake dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Forsyth is a pleasant location to spend a night or two, and if you're visiting from Macon, you won't be the only one. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at McCook Lake. On a great day at McCook Lake you can take a hike along the Ocmulgee River Trail; if you're interested in hydro structures, you can explore McCook                  Dam. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Forsyth, and while you're here, you could also go to striking Childs Lake. McCook Lake gets a lot of water; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is October.
