Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mays Lake; Raven Cliff Falls Trail is a great local trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Mud Creek. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always beautiful. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Camping is available at Serendipity Park Nudist Resort, and if you come at the       right time of year, Chattahoochee River offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. There are plenty of people from Cornelia here at Mays Lake. Man, is there a heap of fun things to do right next door to Mays Lake. Camping at Yonah Mountain Campground is always a magnificent experience, and Best Western Alpine Helen is a great place to get some rest. A great nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Helen, and Innsbruck Resort & Golf Club is a good golf course                  nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Mays Lake Dam is a delightful spot right next door to Mays Lake; the Appalachian National Scenic Trail offers hiking at its best. Mays Lake is a rather wet place generally with a good deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March; October is when it's the driest. At Mays Lake during the summer months highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Mays Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. This place, the Blue Ridge Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting things.
