There are brilliant places to explore along the Brookshire Creek Trail; Windermere Golf Club 1 is a golf course close by. All through the summer at Matthews Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows at Matthews Lake through the winter mostly descend into the 20's. This       lake is so wonderful. A good place for whitewater paddling near Matthews Lake is Settingdown Creek; after a long day outdoors Hilton Garden Inn is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Big Creek is a delightful whitewater spot near Matthews Lake, and Matthews Lake is a site with many visitors from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta. So much amusing stuff in the vicinity of Matthews Lake, just unbelievable. This is a magnificent region for people who like                  lakes. Vaughn Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and Matthews Lake Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. Dry warm beds await you at Amerisuites John S Creek, and Lake Lanier Island Campground is a good campground here. Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is a very glorious site to go to close to Matthews Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Twin Lakes Park is a nice site to camp. This lake is so wonderful.
