Paddling on Lazer Creek is so much fun, and not far from Mathis Lake you'll come across Copper Hill West Lake which is a pretty lake. There's so much to do here at Mathis Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Heart of Georgia RV Park is a brilliant place for that, and why not take a look at nearby Town Branch while you're here at Mathis Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Potato Creek has a nice whitewater       paddling spot nearby, and Jameson Inn Thomaston is a great place to get some rest. A large amount of rainfall falls at Mathis Lake; most of the rain falls throughout March, and October meanwhile is the driest month.
