Man, is there a load of cool things to do near Mathis Lake. After a long day outdoors Griffin Inn and Suites is a great spot to spend a night or two; do stop by Johnson Lake, it's a picturesque lake. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Mathis Lake you'll almost certainly meet some people from Thomaston, and a tremendous nearby       hotel is Iris Inn. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Mathis Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Mathis Lake. Pirkle Campground is a great local campground, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Towaliga River. A beautiful lake like Louise Lake                  in close proximity to Mathis Lake is a great location to visit, and Mathis Lake Dam is a pretty place, beyond doubt worth stopping at.
