This lake is so wonderful. The scenery at Mathis Lake Dam close to Mathis Lake is beautiful; a wonderful close by hotel is Comfort Inn Cornelia. This is a popular place for people from Cornelia, and Mathis Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Hazel Creek RV Park is a brilliant local campground. Much precipitation       falls at Mathis Lake; during March this area sees the most rain; the driest month is October. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Mathis Lake you can take a hike along the Bartram Trail, and glide down the rapids of Tallulah River in a kayak. There are other locations here than Mathis Lake, for example Reservoir 34, and swing by Deep Creek it's a tremendous site to explore. Throughout the months of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Mathis                  Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while Mathis Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Mathis Lake. Not far from Mathis Lake, you'll come across Reservoir 29 which is a pretty lake; Apple Mountain Golf Club is a fine golf course nearby.
