Here at Mathews Lake you'll probably meet some folks from Thomaston, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Smoky Hollow Lake. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Flint River. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Mathews Lake reach the 90's with overnight lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and night lows in the 30's for Mathews Lake. Yeah,       come here to Mathews Lake for a nice time. Fivemile Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to, and Matthews Lake Dam is not far at all from Mathews Lake. A great close by hotel is Econo Lodge Thomaston, and camping at Heart of Georgia RV Park is always a nice experience. If you come at the right time of year, Potato Creek offers some wonderful whitewater. Lakes? Sure, Bickley Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Thomaston-Days Inn                  is a tremendous place to get some rest, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Hickory Ridge Golf Club.
