The beauty of Massey Lake is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Rose Creek in a kayak; if you're popping by from Athens-Clarke County, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. On a delightful day at Massey Lake you can take a hike along the Scull Shoals Trail; after a long day outdoors Travelodge Madison is a perfect location to spend a night or two. | | Massey Lake. An exciting thing to explore near Massey Lake is Massey Lake Dam, and there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the Falling Camp Trail. At Massey Lake through the summer months highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Massey Lake tend to be in the 30's. site to have a look at. There's so much to do here at Massey Lake that you need to camp here for a while, North Shore Resort is a wonderful site for that. The Mounds Trail is a perfect hiking trail right next door to Massey Lake,
and SUPER 8 MOTEL - MADISON is a nice place to get some rest. The high level of rain makes Massey Lake a pretty wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
You'll need more than a day to explore everything Massey Lake has to offer, you can camp at Talisman Campark, and do pop by Mathews Lake, it's a striking lake. Paddling on Apalachee River is so much fun, and some nearby water includes North Sugar Creek.
