If you need a place to stay Wingate by Wyndham Madison / Lake Oconee Area is a glorious choice, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Falling Camp Trail. Just can't get enough of Mason Lake. If the weather is good here at Mason Lake, you can go for a hike along the Scull Shoals Trail, and camping is available at Hard Labor Creek State       Park. All through the long summer days, highs regularly are in the 80's at Mason Lake while night lows are mostly in the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 50's; overnight lows in the 30's for Mason Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Madison, and a lake close by is Chambers Lake. Mason Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around                  here while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The Mounds Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Mason Lake.
