     Get covered with water paddling on Nancy Town River, and Martin Pond is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a brilliant place to camp nearby. If you need a location to stay Days Inn Toccoa is a fine choice, and you can stay the night at Lake Russell Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Martin Pond is a place with many visitors from Toccoa, and dry warm beds await you at Country Hearth Inn Toccoa.

   so wonderful. Take a side trip to Big Leatherwood Creek, and of course, this is a good neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Walters Pond is a lake in close proximity. All through the long summer days highs here at Martin Pond reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are commonly in the 40's; overnight lows all through the winter for Martin Pond tend to be in the 20's. Martin Pond in  
               fact is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. Swamps are interesting spots and Hicks Swamp close to Martin Pond is no exception, and glide down the rapids of Big Panther Creek in a kayak.

Stonecypher Lake
...outh of Toccoa Ga in the foothills of the Smokie Mountains. It is fed by Freeman Creek, McAvoy Branch and Coe Branch.
This lake is located on the farm lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.

Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??...
