Hicks Swamp is an interesting swamp in close proximity to Martin Pond, and a wonderful nearby hotel is Toccoa Days Inn. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Dean Lake; if you need a location to stay Country Hearth Inn Toccoa is a great choice. Float down the rapids of Nancy Town River in a kayak; you can take a little tour to Dean Lake Dam if you're here at Martin Pond. Lake Russell Campground is a tremendous campground       here; you'll in all probability meet some people from Toccoa here. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Martin Pond. Martin Pond is a splendid spot to camp, Hazel Creek RV Park is a splendid spot; some close by water includes Big Leatherwood Creek. If you come at the right time of year, Big Panther Creek offers some delightful whitewater. High temperatures at Martin Pond through the summer months are in the 80's.                  Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's; nighttime lows at Martin Pond during the winter ordinarily sink into the 20's.
