A wonderful spot for whitewater paddling near Martin Lake is Big Cedar Creek, and Cedar Creek Park is a fine campground nearby. Martin Lake is a relatively wet place mostly with a lot of precipitation; through March this area sees the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest.       Rome-floyd County Recreation is a great local campground, and getting to Cabin Creek from Martin Lake is trouble-free.
