If you are in this part of Georgia make sure to pay a visit to Martin Lake. Martin Lake Dam is worth checking out if you're here, and if you came for an overnight stay Pine Lake RV Campground is a fine place to camp. Martin Lake gets a great deal of water; March is the month that gets the most rain, and September on the other hand is the driest. A nice location for whitewater paddling next to Martin Lake is Big Clouds Creek; why not camp at Oconee River Campground

choice. This lake is so wonderful. There is a fine hiking trail next to Martin Lake called the Falling Camp Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Athens. Summertime at Martin Lake comes with high temperatures in
the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 50's with temperatures at Martin Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Lakes are such calm spots, why not have a look at Benny
Meyers Lake right next door to Martin Lake, and nearby you hit upon the Mounds Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail.
