If you are in Columbia county it's always a good idea to stop by Marshall Pond. Marshall Pond is a reasonably wet place usually with a lot of rain; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is November. There's so much to do here at Marshall Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Forks Campground is a fine site for that, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Forest Hills Golf Club. Why not go to Mullens Lake Dam since you're
here, and Savannah River is a splendid whitewater spot nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn AUGUSTA WEST I-20, and in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Mullens Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Marshall Pond without first going for a hike along the Turkey Creek Hiking Trail. Here at Marshall Pond you'll perhaps meet some people from Augusta-Richmond

County; needless to say, this is a fine region for people who like lakes, Idlewylde Lake is a lake close at hand.
So much exciting stuff right next door to Marshall Pond, completely striking. Marshall Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Heritage Mobile Home Community is a tremendous local campground; if you need a location to stay Red Roof Inn & Suites Augusta is a glorious choice. During the warm days of summer here at Marshall Pond, high temperatures mostly reach the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's, and overnight lows at Marshall Pond all through the winter typically sink into the 30's. Go for a hike on the Horn Creek Hiking Trail, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Stevens Creek.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Savannah River
There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams....

Heritage Mobile Home Community
We are a RV Park only, not a campground.  No bathroom or shower facilities. No tent camping facilities....

The changes, sportmanship, and willingness to assist helped me fall in love with the patch as a child. As the coach of Laney High School, I was not surprised when they welcomed us with open arms. I attribute our second place regional finish to the members of the ''The Cabbage Patch'' who believes in our future. Our Youth!...
