     The Horn Creek Hiking Trail offers hiking at its best; Lower Pollards Lake is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Mistletoe State Park is a pleasant place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. During your spree to Lower Pollards Lake you'll meet some people from Augusta-Richmond County for sure. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Savannah River, needless to say you could also have a look at Pollards Lake if you're here; it's  
   not far at all. Lower Pollards Lake gets a lot of water; during the month of January you get the most rain around here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing things the area close to Lower Pollards Lake has to offer. Greenbrier Creek is a stream that you may stumble upon while you're here, and Hamilton Branch Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
 
               You don’t have to go far from Lower Pollards Lake to see the water at Lower Pollards Lake Dam; Holiday Inn AUGUSTA WEST I-20 is a perfect location to get some rest. There's magnificent hiking along the Turkey Creek Hiking Trail; probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Smith Lake is just a very short distance away.
After a long day outdoors Americas Best Inns-Augusta Grovetown is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and there's whitewater on Stevens Creek for all you thrill seekers. During the summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Lower Pollards Lake. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 50's; overnight lows through the wintertime for Lower Pollards Lake tend to be in the 20's.

There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams....
