to spend a night or two, and a journey to Smokehouse Jam revitalizes the spirit. Not far from Lower Lake, you'll come across Piney Woods Lake which is a scenic lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lower Lake a wet site;
the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is October.
Lower Lake is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Stephen C. Foster State Park is a good spot to camp nearby, and good hiking is available along the Indian Trail.
