Why not camp at James H. Floyd State Park since you're here at Lower Lake, and a perfect close by hotel is Howard Johnson Express Inn Rome. This lake is so wonderful. A nice spot near Lower Lake is Jenkins Gap; Lad Marina and Campground is a good local campground. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Lower Lake with overnight       lows in the 60's. During the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Lower Lake during the winter generally fall into the 20's. Nearby lakes? Sure, Wildlife Lake is in the vicinity of Lower Lake; Lower Lake is a place with many visitors from Summerville. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Little River - East Fork offers some great whitewater. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. This is                  a tremendous region for people who like lakes. Upper Lake is a lake in close proximity, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Rome is a great choice. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Allen Creek, and as expected Lowe Branch is a stunning stream that is worth checking out.
