If you come at the right time of year, Rose Creek offers some magnificent whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Horseshoe Bend is an attention-grabbing thing to spot since you're here at Lower Elders Lake, and do take a hike on the Mounds Trail. Through the summertime months highs here at Lower       Elders Lake get into the 80's, and the night is slightly cooler of course, frequently in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Lower Elders Lake. The cheerful people of Athens-Clarke County like to hang out close by, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Falling Camp Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lower Elders Lake a wet location; March is the wettest month                  with most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. Lower Elders Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Lake RV Campground is a tremendous local campground; dry warm beds await you at Hilton Garden Inn Athens Downtown. There are some fine whitewater spots on Apalachee River; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Elders Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn ATHENS-UNIVERSITY AREA is a delightful site to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Lower Elders Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is a wonderful site for that. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! Lower Elders Lake is unbeatable!
