Stay the night at Fox Hollow Camp Ground, and Lombards Mill Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore. Just can't get enough of Lombard Millpond. Lombard Millpond is a good location to visit for more than one day, Heritage Mobile Home Community is a good location to camp nearby, and after a long day outdoors Country Hearth Inn Augusta is a great location to spend a night or two. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Lombard Millpond dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. Reservoir. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to catch a glimpse of at Lombards Mill Pond Dam next to Lombard Millpond; Days Inn Augusta / Deans Bridge Road is a great location to get some rest. The Horn Creek Hiking Trail is a
magnificent hiking trail in close proximity to Lombard Millpond, and there are plenty of people from Augusta-Richmond County here. Lombard Millpond gets a good deal of water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; November meanwhile is the driest month.

Savannah River
 | There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams.... |
