Leisure Lake is a nice lake to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mill Creek, and don't leave Leisure Lake without first going for a hike along the Conasauga River Trail. So many exciting things in the vicinity of Leisure Lake, simply fantastic. There's some out of the ordinary stuff to see at Leisure Lake Dam in the vicinity of Leisure Lake; Best Western Inn Of Dalton is a nice site to get some rest. There are some fine

| | whitewater spots on Conasauga River, and there's great hiking along the Conasauga River Trail. Having a perfect time at Leisure Lake is simple. Barrett Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit, and Leisure Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Chattanooga North KOA is a fine local campground. This lake is so wonderful. of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that rains the most while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Enjoy a round of golf at Nob North Golf Course not far from Leisure
Lake, and why not take a little journey to Blue Branch while you're here. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Leisure Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come
with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Leisure Lake. A good place to camp here at Leisure Lake is Mc Donald Koa Kampground, and the Grassy Mountain Tower Trail offers hiking at its best.

Lake Conasauga Campground
 | 17 miles away ...camping and hosting at Lake Conasauga for the last few years I am very upset about the way people are treating the facilities offered there. As this area grows in popularity, and more and more people use it, I am saddened by the way this beautiful lake and mountian is being abused and trashed. The catch phrase ''Leave only your footprints'' applies to all US National Forests for a reason. One can only assume that you use this camping area for it's beauty and freshness, so why then do so many people leave it in such a mess? To have to pick up over 50 bags of trash, often left scattered about after a non-holiday weekend, is unreasonable. I don't mean to rant or nag, but, it isn't that hard to put a grocery bag in you pocket when fishing along the lake trail and walk out with the trash you create. The hosts in most camp grounds are volunteers and are unpaid. They pay for all of their own expenses to be there in order to keep the grounds and restrooms clean and stocked. So, PLEASE, read and obey the rules posted. Few places are as beautiful as our National Parks, please lets all make tha... |
