At Lawson Lake Dam Two next to Lawson Lake there are some attention-grabbing things to see, and Lawson Lake is not far at all from Cornelia. Lawson Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls during March; the driest month of the year is October. After a long day outdoors Best Western Cornelia Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two; paddling on Tallulah River is so much fun. Lakes are great; Todd Lake is a lake that's near Lawson Lake,

| | and a nice place to camp here at Lawson Lake is Hazel Creek RV Park. A magnificent close by hotel is Country Hearth Inn Toccoa, and going for a hike on the Bartram Trail is always a nice adventure. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Apple Mountain Golf Club is always a pleasure, and Lawson Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Panther Creek Campground is a tremendous local campground. months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 40's, and night lows during the winter for Lawson Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake
is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Chattooga Trail, and Big Panther Creek has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby. Take a side spree to Walker Branch. Just can't get enough of Lawson Lake. Gotta ski! Sky Valley is a pleasant location to do that; you're probably into lakes, Nems Pond is one of those nearby.

 | 1 PHOTO Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Stonecypher Lake
 | 10 miles away ...impson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's. The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed. The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates. Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings. Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
