If you came to camp Papillon Resort and RV Campground is a pleasant place to do that, and get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Snake River. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. You can take a little spree to Lassetter Lake Dam if you're here at Lassetter Lake, and camping at Flat Creek Campground is always a glorious experience. Whooping Creek
 | 14 miles away ...ife and have barely been able to find a spotdeep enough to swim in most years. It is however a great place to hike and camp. I dont know much about the adjacent property owners but in 29 years have never been bothered hiking the section between Clem-Lowell road and Hwy 5 (the section you are referring to).The section on the opposite side of hwy 5 is owned by Inland Paper and posted. There are a few property owners on shilo church road that will allow you passage to the water. I have floated a canoe to the river on this section after months of rain, but in general it is also too shallow. There are some deep holes in this section of the creek that offer great bream and bass fishing. The fishing is best closer to the river and it is not uncommon to catch 7# striped bass swimming up from the river looking for food. A gob of nightcawlers or a small rooster tail work excellent for all species. It is a beautiful stream and will not dissappoint for quiet and solitude, but not worth the hassle for kayaking. Wait till summer and bring an innertube and a pair of cutt-offs instead. Please reme... |
