     If time allows, Ocmulgee National Monument is a national park worth checking out; hiking along the Allison Lake Wildlife Trail is good fun. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Tonowanda Dam is not far at all from Lake Tonawanda, and golf can be played at Bowden Golf Course. If you need a location to stay Days Inn Macon East is a wonderful choice, and you'll meet a lot of people from Macon here.

   Lake Tonawanda. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lake Tonawanda has to offer, you can camp at Tobesofkee Recreation Area; a gorgeous lake like Lake Tonowanda is a tremendous location to take a look at. Macon Marriott City Center is a perfect place to get some rest, and do take a look at Smith Lake, it's a pretty lake. There's so much to do here at Lake Tonawanda that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Juliette Dames Ferry Park is a wonderful  
               spot for that, and why not a little side tour to Dry Bone Creek.
Through the months of summer at Lake Tonawanda temperatures are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Tonawanda temperatures plunge to the 30's. Lake Tonawanda sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most, and October on the other hand is the driest.
